George receives Diamond Jubilee Award

60,000 Canadians have been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award over the past year. The honour, presented by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, was created last year in commemoration of the Queen ascending to the throne 60 years ago. A variety of people from all aspects of life have been bestowed with this honour, but there is one in particular that is of interest to us.

George Stroumboulopoulos received the prestigious Diamond Jubilee Award in recognition of his dedicated service to the country. The ceremony was held at the Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto on February 7, and was hosted by Peter Mansbridge.
